The Sumaira Foundation is proud and pleased to welcome Dr. Fiifi Duodu, neurologist at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana, to join TSF’s international Medical Advisory Board as the first representative from Sub-Saharan Africa.

Dr. Fiifi Duodu is a Consultant Neurologist based at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana. He holds an MBChB from the University of Ghana Medical School and completed both his Internal Medicine residency and Neurology fellowship at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
Dr. Duodu’s clinical expertise spans stroke, epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, and movement disorders. He is actively involved in shaping neurology practice at a national level — contributing to Ghana’s cardiovascular disease guidelines, pioneering the country’s first multiple sclerosis and Guillain-Barré syndrome registries, and serving as Secretary of the Epilepsy Society of Ghana and Educational Chair of the Neurology Society of Ghana.
His research and leadership have been recognized internationally, including the 2023 MSIF Du Pré Grant, the 2024 ANA/NSG Award, and the 2025 AAN International Scholarship Award. He is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians and a member of leading global neurology bodies including the American Academy of Neurology, the European Academy of Neurology, and the International League Against Epilepsy.
Dr. Duodu is the acting Vice President of AFRICTRIMS and hosted the inaugural AFRICTRIMS conference for neuroimmunology hosted in Accra, Ghana in May 2026.
