TSF Funding Awards

The Sumaira Foundation has been the recipient of external funding for several of our research initiatives over the years. We have included more information on some of these initiatives below.

Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute Engagement Award:

Building Capacity to Engage in Patient-Centered CER on Rare Neuroimmune Disorders

Neuroimmune disorders affect the nervous and immune systems. Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD) are two rare neuroimmune disorders. People with NMOSD or MOGAD experience disabling inflammatory attacks that can cause blindness, paralysis, and other symptoms that can worsen quality of life. More research is needed on NMOSD and MOGAD to improve diagnosis and treatments.

This project aims to bring patients, caregivers, clinicians, and researchers together to prioritize research topics for NMOSD, MOGAD, and other rare neuroimmune diseases.

Please see the TSF resources developed via this funding award below.
