Understanding NMOSD & MOGAD Brochures

Complex medical conditions are difficult for the average patient to fully understand and come to terms with. This is especially true with rare conditions such as NMOSD and MOGAD. In TSF’s experience, patient-facing materials are often written at a level beyond the typical patient’s comprehension and presented in an overly clinical tone that can be overwhelming to patients, especially when newly diagnosed. To address this situation, TSF has developed a patient-friendly introductory brochure entitled “Understanding NMOSD and MOGAD.”

When it comes to rare diseases, patient awareness and understanding of their own condition can make all the difference in their interactions with their healthcare providers, many of whom may not be familiar with such rare conditions as NMOSD and MOGAD. This brochure aims to inform and empower patients and their families to fully engage in shared decision-making with their clinicians and drive better health outcomes. In increasingly busy and time-constrained clinical settings, we believe our brochure can lead to a more productive and efficient consultation and better alignment between the patient and their doctor when it comes to informed consent and jointly-agreed treatment plans.
