DESCRIPTION:Turning Miles into Medical Progress – Join us on September 13th for TSF’s 2nd 5K to raise money for research! \nLast year’s inaugural 5K helped fund a groundbreaking AI-powered diagnostic initiative with the potential to transform how rare neuroimmune diseases are identified around the world. \nUsing only a smartphone image\, this technology is being developed to rapidly and accurately analyze diagnostic testing\, helping clinicians detect rare neuroimmune conditions earlier – especially in underserved regions where access to specialized care and testing is limited. Earlier diagnosis can lead to faster treatment\, better outcomes and a greater chance of preventing permanent disability\, vision loss and disease progression. \nWhat started as a community race is now helping drive a global solution that could expand access to life-changing care for patients everywhere. (Registration/attendance comes with a free t-shirt). \nThis event is being organized by Terry Clark\, TSF Ambassador of MA and NMOSD patient who says\, “As many of you know\, almost 3 years ago\, in May of 2022\, I was diagnoses with a rare autoimmune disease called NMO. This 5k has been something I’ve wanted to do for years now\, so I’m excited to finally begin this annual race to raise awareness. Early detection of NMO improves quality of life!” \nProceeds from this event will be used to fund researcher rare neuroimmunological disorders.
